South Dakota - Day 14 - in the campground

Lake Vermillion State Recreational Area, Sioux Falls
Saturday, 14 August 2021

This is a pretty good-sized park, but my particular section only had about 15 campsites. Our site was right on the edge of that section, which meant the dogs and I could head downhill to walk somewhere less likely to find other dogs.  Of course, other people had the same idea and went the same route, so I had to keep an eye out for which dogs had gone and not yet come back, so as not to run into them on the hill where we’d have no escape.

I was still hoping to see a shooting star when we’d be out for our early morning walks, and still hadn’t found one.  And at this campground there were so many trees in the way it wasn’t easy getting a good view of the sky.

But it was still a pleasant campground, our campsite was fairly level, the bathrooms were very clean and the dogs got out some, though of course not as much as they wanted.
